Lachish and Assyria

Discover why ancient Israel lost the Land and what lessons remain today.

Mamila Mall - Entrance to Karta parking lot

Service Description

Empires rise and fall, but the lessons of history endure. This tour explores one of the most dramatic periods in Tanach: the Assyrian invasion of the Kingdom of Judah. Standing at Tel Lachish, Azekah, and Maresha, we will examine the events that led to national catastrophe and ask difficult questions about leadership, faith, and responsibility. Using archaeology, biblical sources, and historical evidence, we will reconstruct the Assyrian campaign and explore why some cities fell while Jerusalem survived. More importantly, we will examine the spiritual and moral lessons drawn by the prophets and consider what they can teach us about Jewish sovereignty today. Sites Visited • Tel Lachish • Azekah • Maresha Why Did We Lose the Land?
